Aquaforest has launched a new 1 part-dosing product called Component 3 in 1. Those familiar with the Aquaforest Method usually use Component 1+2+3+, an adaptation of the Balling Method comprising three separate solutions of Alkalinity, Calcium, Magnesium, and trace elements. But now they can get all that Aquaforest goodness in a single-part solution if they want to, freeing up two dosing heads at the same time.
We remember a time when it wasn’t thought possible to have everything you need in one bottle, but like other one-parts, Calcium Diformate is the key ingredient here. Just like with the three-part Balling Method, consumption is calculated via daily KH consumption, you program your single-head dosing pump, or even dose daily by hand, and your tank should get everything it consumes in one super easy dose.
So does this replace Component 1+2+3+? No, because Component 1+2+3+ is a more cost-effective way to dose for medium to large aquariums where consumption is higher. Or even by mixing up five parts comprising Aquaforest KH, Calcium, Magnesium, Reef Mineral Salt, and Components Strong powders for the ultimate in bulk Balling solutions.
If you have a small tank, however, this could be right up your street.
Component 3 in 1 comes in two sizes – a 1-liter and a 2-liter bottle. It recommends to dose 5ml per 100 liters per day, although this should be adjusted to suit your tank’s individual consumption.
