Tropical Marine Centre has released a new follow-up range of algae reactors called Reef Bio-Gro 2.0. Following on from the popular Reef Bio-Gro, Bio-Gro 2.0 comes in two sizes and incorporates a double-sided AquaRay LED strip light populated with Samsung diodes, hose tails with union fittings, and an opaque outer casing. The Bio-Gro S measures 195x165x465mm high, holds 4.4 liters, and is fitted with a 9-watt LED light. The Bio-Gro M measures 230x200x565mm high, holds 8.7 liters, and comes fitted with a 14-watt LED light.
We’ve been running macroalgae refugiums since the early days of Leng Sy’s EcoSystem Method, but macroalgae reactors can offer an advantage over sump-based ‘fuges as they are compact, easier to keep clean and tidy, and can be run outside of the sump, and fed via a powerhead or a manifold. TMC’s original Bio-Gro was very popular but took a hiatus in the UK until now.
We saw these on sale in the UK, priced at £199.99 and £239.99 respectively.
