Last week, Quality Marine imported aberrant Pseudanthias pascals, otherwise known as the Purple Pascalus Anthias. This tricky species has proven difficult to keep in home aquariums due to issues with quarantine and its requirement for frequent feeding.
Nonetheless, this is the first time I have seen an aberrant Anthias of any kind (which may be a function of my age). Even so, the last time aberrant Anthias of any species were written about on Reef Builders was in 2014 here.
Unfortunately for collectors, a quick scroll through Quality’s site reveals that the specimens appear to have already been sold. If you’d like to learn more about this species, be sure to read this Reef Builders article from Kai The Fish Guy.
Modern Aquatix in Indiana bought them. They just posted them on their Facebook page today. I am sure they already sold.
