EcoSmart Driver rebate for Vortech MP40 owners

10

The new Vortech Ecosmart driver has quite a few new modes and features. However, what happens to those that already have a Vortech with old generation drivers? Not to worry. Ecotech Marine has released an upgrade rebate route that is fairly simple. For those of you who purchased a VorTech MP40w pump in 2010 you can download the rebate, mail it back in and receive a $25 rebate by mail. The covet here is that you had to purchase your pump in 2010, which leaves the rest of us who purchased before then out in the dark and forced to buy the ecosmart driver for full price $100. Of course we all could keep our water flow going cheerfully with our plain-boring drivers that work. But who wants to use last years tech?

At EcoTech, we are committed to our customers. As a result, EcoTech is offering a manufacturer’s rebate to our US customer base for all VorTech MP40w pumps purchased in 2010 if they upgrade to the new EcoSmart Driver.

All customers who qualify will receive a $25 mail in rebate on new EcoSmart Upgrade kits. To qualify, the following conditions need to be met.

Download the rebate form here –> EcoSmart Rebate

  • You must have purchased the MP40w between 1/1/10 and 4/30/10
  • You must provide a receipt from an authorized retailer and the UPC from the MP40w box
  • You must have purchased the EcoSmart Upgrade kit from the EcoTech Marine Parts Store before 4/30/2010
  • You must provide a receipt from the EcoTech Marine Parts Store
  • You must postmark the rebate packet within 30 days of purchase of the EcoSmart Upgrade kit

I sincerely hope they offer the rebate program to new MP10 owners also! I just purchased an MP10 last week and would be really bummed if I couldn’t upgrade to the new driver with a rebate program like the MP40s. Can reefbuilders inquire about this and try to persuade them otherwise? Thanks!

Not full price. Full price for the MP40w ES upgrade is $100. We’ve discounted this price to $75 for all customers until April 30th at which point it will go up to $100. For customers that bought MP40w’s after January 1st, 2010, there is an additional $25 rebate.

There will be no rebate for the MP10 ES or MP10w ES because the price of these new models has increased and the upgrade kits for these models are more economical once you do the math.

For example, if you bought an MP10 and paid retail ($195) but wish to upgrade to an MP10w ES, the cost is only $85 for this kit. This is only $15 more than had you bought the MP10w ES new in the first place.

Would it work to purchase the MP40w ES upgrade at $75, disconnect an old MP20 and effectively upgrade your MP20 to an MP40 for $75?

No, you will need the MP40w power supply which is $50 (thus the $125 price).

I submitted all the required documentation along with the completed rebate form and never received the $25 rebate.  Called EcoTech once and the rep said he was going to investigate and call me back – never heard back from him either!
