The KZ CO2 calcium reactor follows in the footsteps of the unmistakable styling of the Korallen Zucht protein skimmers with neon fittings that serve double duty as lighthouse beacons. Sometimes the simplest ideas are also the best and along those lines, KZ has gotten quite crafty with their Calcium Reactor by placing the second stage media chamber within the primary reaction chamber. The second internal chamber is filled with much finer aragonite media that serves to consume any residual carbon dioxide left from the recirculating media chamber. The reduced cross section of the recirculating chamber should also create a much more even and faster flow rate where it is needed, leading to pretty efficient use of the acidifying carbon dioxide.
