LiveAquaria just released a nice and very rare hybrid butterflyfish between Chaetodon miliaris and C. multicinctus. The lovely fish from Hawaii may not be as colorful as the other rare hybrid butterflyfishes that we’ve posted here before, but the fish is in no way any less special. It’s not everyday a hybrid such as this gets offered for sale, and the last piece we covered two years ago got snapped up almost immediately upon release.
Not surprisingly, this lovely specimen followed suit and was sold rather quickly upon hitting the Diver’s Den. Fans of butterflyfishes will notice the unique blend of colour and spots from both parent species and we’re pretty sure the buyer of this fish is eagerly anticipating the arrival of his or her new found love.
