Lytro pictures of the Estherea Hotel reef aquarium by Jan Willem Esselaar

By on May 29, 2012

By now you should be keenly aware of our little infatuation with Lytro’s light field camera photography when coupled with beautiful coral reef aquarium scenery. With this point in mind, the amazing aquarium of Jan Willem Esselaar in teh Estherea Hotel in downtown Amsterdam was the best coralicious light playground for light field photos that we have yet come across. Beautiful fields of the most colorful assortment of vivid SPS coral colonies of Acropora, Montipora, Seriatopora and Stylophora were rendered in these light field photographs in the most incredible way, and here is the first group from the Estherea Hotel’s astounding display of corals.

I love these pics!  Does this work as well for full tank shots? Hint, hint…

It has been some years since I ‘ve seen this tank in person, but the corals look better and better, and these Lytro images makes it even more spectacular to watch
