Sunlight Supply Fast Fit offers frag tank set up in minutes

By on Oct 03, 2012

Sunlight Supply Fast Fit is exactly what it appears to be in the pictures, a simple holding bin with stand and a hangar to mount a light. Nothing terribly special in itself and probably just modified from original hydroponic use, the Fast Fit’s modular design and toolless assembly do make this unit worth a second look. Although the Fast Fit is designed for commercial settings such as fish stores and wholesalers or hobbyists, we could imagine might also work for use in frag swaps. We’re not entirely sure how much the unit weights, but it appears to be much lighter than a conventional glass or acrylic frag tank. Not to mention that it is probably a lot less fragile. It definitely does not even come close to the MATSA, and the Fast Fit lacks any side panels, but it’s easy assembly and relatively low cost might make it a cheap alternative.

The Sunlight Supply Fast Fit comes in three sizes including 2 feet by 4 feet, 4 feet by 4 feet, and 4 feet by 8 feet. The Fast Fit units will retail for $164.99, $196.99, and $274.99 respectively. Associated hanging bars retail for $19.95 for a 2 feet bar, $20.95 for a 3 feet bar, and $24.95 for a 4 feet bar. The Sunlight Supply can be ordered through the Sunlight Supply online store.

Love everything about that … except the metal halide as a light source. Even if you’re pro-MH, which is fine, looking at that fixture on top there’s going to be so much light spilling outside the frag container.

Glad to hear Mike! While this particular image features a large halide fixture any light could be used. The folks at RB simply chose this picture from one of our websites to use on this story. You can visit our Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/Sunlightaqua )to see a photo from MACNA where we displayed the system with our Tek Wave T5 VHO fixture as well as a Reeflo Blowhole pump on a closed loop.

Lastly we do not sell direct to the public, however you can go to http://www.sunlightaqua.com and use our dealer locator to find a Sunlight Dealer near you!

I want one for my basement… That looks so easy and the price is right.

So put the light on a hanging wire so you can adjust it perfectly. Or Im sure you could easily shorten the light bracket height with DIY 101 skills.

    How deep are these tanks?

The particular one shown is 7″, but we have many to choose from: http://www.sunlightaqua.com/c-21-propagation-reservoirs.aspx
