The long awaited VorTech MP10 has finally started to ship and we are very excited to bring you the full unboxing of a final production model of EcoTech Marine’s latest and greatest. Although we already brought you a hands on review (And video) of the MP10 in it’s beta form, the final production version brings a strong game which is clearly ready for the prime time. The first thing that strikes a first time viewer of the MP10 is the beautifully designed box. The new box features stylish full color pictures all the way around and an ingenious packaging which reveals the prize within; these details may be secondary to end consumers but resellers will surely appreciate the on-the-shelf marketing that EcoTech provides. Upon opening the MP10 box, a bright notice alerts the user to use a single rubber disc for tanks with glass of 1/8th and 3/16th” thickness but not to use the disc for thicknesses of 1/4 and 3/8″. One of the important new inclusions of the MP10 is a foam guard which really makes this pump greatly suited to even the smallest nano tanks. Compared to the VorTech mp40 which need at least a week to completely quiet down, we’ve found that our MP10 has been virtually silent right out of the box. Surely the new combination of the ceramic external radial bearing and the internal axial bearings help to muffle a large amount of noise and vibration. We’ll revisit the new pump very soon once we’ve run it on our test tanks for a while. Follow the break for the full pictorial of what you’ll find when opening the new MP10’s box.
