If you thought all Centropyge were small and cute, then obviously you haven’t met a full grown, 6+” Centropyge interruptus from the Sea of Japan. There’s nothing ‘pygmy’ about this ginormous blue-spotted beauty, not even the price. The specimen pictured is part of a pair which was recently aquired by LiveAquaria and we discussed with Kevin Kohen whether this specimen was the male or the female and we are still unsure since the other smaller specimen (not pictured) is much more orange but also much more reclusive and hard to get a good look at. What does the Reef Buidlers readership have to say about the sex of this jumbo Centropyge? On a side note, we are helping to choose and price tonight’s Diver’s Den and we’ll picking and pricing a few choice specimens of fish and corals at some unbelieveably low prices. Can anyone guess which specimens are the Reef Builders special?
