As we reported a while back, one of the best shops in Japan, Blue Harbor, obtained two Roa excelsa from Hawaii three weeks ago. Unfortunately, one of the butterflyfish was already dead in a plastic bag when they arrived at Japan because of a virus infection. Another one of the Roa survived the trip, but his condition was really bad. The owner of Blue Harbor, Mr. Wada who gave very impressive speech at last MACNA, never gave up on him.  He treated with some medication for 2 weeks as well as 100% water change every day.   Because of his tremendous efforts, one Roa excelsa is still alive and also starts eating frozen white shrimp now!  We hope the Roa excels fully recovers and stays healthy a long time. Let’s hope Mr. Wada gets the fish on such good shape that he can make and share a video of this extremely rare butterflyfish.
