We can’t think of a more entertaining way to wake up to coffee and breakfast than to attend Rich Ross’s ceph talk while he amuses and entertains. Whether or not you have a dedicated interest in Octopi or cuttlefish, ex-comedian and current aquatic biologist at the Steinhart Aquarium in the California Academy of Sciences, Rich Ross commands the stage with humor and candid information about his career working with cephalopods from acquiring healthy livestock, designing a practical aquarium for them to breeding and raising the juveniles of some Octopus and cuttlefish species. From the most common to the most exotic, Mr. Ross is one of the most experienced Ceph-heads around and he is always getting his hands on some of the rarest and most exotic Cephalopod species. Strangely enough, Rich will be the first to advise against keeping some of the bombastic species for lack of personality or intelligence – or simply because not enough is know about the size and health of wild populations. Regardless of what Mr. Ross is presenting, make sure that you catch his entertaining, informative and well illustrated presentation.
