This hybrid Chaetodon butterflyfish from Hawaii may not seem like much at his small size, but when this little gem grows up he’ll probably throw out a neat blend of features from his supposed parents, Chaetodon miliaris and C. multicinctus. Although hybrid angelfish may get the lion’s share of the marine aquarium community’s excitement, hybrid butterflyfish can be every bit as unique and expensive as their Pomacanthid counterparts. The specimen above was listed on Crownfish and despite it’s muted appearance, it sold for the equivalent of $250 almost immediately.
