The Phobos and Deimos LED + T5 hybrid light fixtures from Pacific Sun are the new top shelf offerings from the Polish lighting manufacturer. The 35″ Phobos and 60″ Deimos lights both include a handful of cooling fans, all metal enclosure, a whopping 5″ touchscreen LCD display and a combination of LED and T5 lighting. Both LED lights include two full length T5 lamps and the LED modules are either 100 watts or 140 watts each; the Phobos holds two and the Deimos can hold three. So the smaller Phobos can be as “little” as 278 watts total and the Deimos tops out at 680 watts total. As far as we can tell the Phobos and Deimos appear to be packing the greatest density of LED lighting power but whether that will translate into the most powerful LED lighting fixture is another matter altogether. As if all of this high end performance wasn’t enough, the LEDs and T5s are fully dimmable and controllable via the touch screen LCD display or you can also get some interplay with your PC with the built-in bluetooth connectivity. Wait, say what? Yes you read that right, the Phobos and Deimos fixtures officially threw in the kitchen sink by being the first commercial lighting fixture to include bluetooth. This mountain of features won’t come cheap as the least powerful Phobos starts at $2271 and the brightest Deimos light is a budget breaking $3594. The Pacific Sun LED lights are available from official resellers in the U.S. and throughout Europe and the Phobos and Deimos lights should become available in early and mid February respectively.
