The E-chill is a new aquarium cooling solution from Teco, the company that specializes in producing some of the finest aquarium chillers money can buy. Realizing that not everyone can afford a big ole chiller, and that chillers are expensive to run, Teco has engineered the E-chill to not only serve as a cooling device where the degree of temperature pulldown is not that critical and to be used in conjunction with a chiller set up to reduce operating costs of the entire system. The E-chill obtrusively sits on the side of the tank, where they are in your face like a billboard, but if the Echill was mounted on a sump or out of sight we presume they’d be pretty good at cooling a large surface of open aquarium water. And for an estimated 140, 170 and 210 Euros for the single, double and triple fan models the Echill better perform like the race car of aquarium fans. Granted the E-chill is outfitted with water temperature and water level sensors, a removable thermostat which can integrate with Teco chillers and we have great confidence that Teco sourced the highest grade and quietest fans. Nevertheless, we hope that actual retail prices of the E-Chill are much lower or the same price in dollars as it’s just hard to justify a couple hundred bucks on fans which can more or less do the same job as a $10 clip on fan from any department store.
