The Revolution M Deluxe Cone Beckett protein skimmer is a new take on the unique design from Korallen Zucht. the Revolution M Deluxe uses a novel pump intake assembly which makes it recirculate some water from the skimmer while also drawing fresh dirty aquarium water from the sump. We’re not quite sure what is up with the 3/8″ locline on the intake side of it but we presume that is a combination feature to direct the intake where there are fewest bubbles and to restrict the amount of water coming into the pump from the skimmer body. Like KZ’s other skimmers, the Revolution M Deluxe is a miraculously expensive 1250 Euros (about $1500) because it takes a lot of Zeovit to get the plastic to turn those psychedelic colors. The Revolution M Deluxe uses an AquaBee UP5000 and it is rated for tanks up to 5000 liters, about 1300 gallons. Say What! Thomas, you know we love you and all you’ve done for anorexically beautiful SPS corals but there is no way that the UP5000 can pump nearly enough air to skim even the most lightly stocked 1000 gallon reef tank, at least not while under the forces of Earth gravity.
