The RGBY LEDs of the Mame Eco Light are truly something when it comes to dialing in the color and spread on your reef tank. The video we produced at InterZoo of the Eco Light was only doing a demo of a dawn to dusk light cycle with some color variation.
This video of the Eco Light by Coral Fish leaves nothing to the imagination in terms of how many different ways there to fire this baby up. Did we mention that Mame has calculated over 4 billion ways to color up your tank using their RGBY creation? Of course, the true tale of the tape will be to slap this baby over a tank with a diversity of corals and not only make them look good, but also to make corals grow at an appreciable rate.
We have no doubt that the 49 watt Eco Light can grow corals but what really matters is what is the largest reef tank that it can light and still grow corals to get the most value from the 1000 Euro price tag. We’ll be seeing a lot more RGB LEDs in the future and stronger ones too so we might as well get used to the idea of custom color control becoming an option for reef lighting that won’t cost that much more than a nice reef aquarium light of any kind.
