Coralvue has launched a T5/LED hybrid fixture that incorporates your typical T5 HO fluorescent system but adds to it high power one watt blue LEDs. Given the highly positive feedback users are reporting with blue LED supplementation, these fixtures are expected to be quite popular. The T5/LED hybrid fixtures come in 2′, 3′, 4′ lengths with either 5, 7, or 10 high power one watt LEDs respectively. The fixture has acrylic shields over all the bulbs, and features broad angle lenses over the LEDs. In addition to the hybrid LED actinics, these fixtures do feature a few design concepts that are much appreciated. First, the fixture only has one cord coming from the fixture to a junction box, but still has separate plugs for separate timers. Second, the LEDs are wired up to a manually dimmable switch for those of you who like to tweak your colors or use the fixture for moonlighting. Third, take notice of the mounting bracket system which allows for the fixture to be moved up or down, and even angled to direct light anywhere you want it.
