Magi-klean is a new pump cleaning solution that is strong enough to remove tough biofouling like coralline algae, tubeworms and calcium buildup. This is only the second pump cleaning kit we’ve seen for the aquaium market with an emphasis on a chemical cleaning solution based on an acid; the Tunze cleaning kit uses dry citric acid but Hydor’s Magi-Klean uses an acid almost as powerful as phosphoric acid, in a predosed ready to use pouch. Hydor’s newest Revolution propeller pumps are extremely efficient because they rely on low power and efficiency to do their work and the littlest grime on the impeller or particles on the intake strainer can greatly reduce their overall water flow. We hope that the new Magi-Klean will help bring about a whole isle of aquarium cleaning and maintenance products at the LFS because dirty equipment is inefficient and more likely to fail. The image above is jsut a mock-up but we should eb seeing the Magi-Klean coming to market for a nominal price very soon.
Magi-Klean pump cleaning solution coming soon from Hydor
