Today on Reef Builders we’re putting one very exciting giveaway where our mouth is: Following the MACNA conference a few weeks back we wrote an editorial which addressed our concern about where all the young reefers have gone. In an effort to practice what we preach, we’re targeting the giveaway of a top of the line G2 Maxspect LED light from Fins Reef exclusively to one deserving young reefer. For an adult to budget enough money to afford one of these $500-ish lights is not a big deal but for a kid it is almost insurmountable to save up enough money to be able to purchase such a valuable piece of hardware.
You’ll notice that we haven’t specified which model of G2 Maxspect will be won and that’s because the winning young reefer will have their choice of fixture which best suits their existing or planned aquarium set up. The winner will have their choice of either a G2 60, a G2 110 or a G2 160 so that we can make sure the winner doesn’t end up with too much or too little light. Although almost all of our contests are for adults the age of 18 or older, this time around only those young persons 18 or under will be eligible to win this prize. This means that if you’re under 18 you’ll have to get your parent’s permission to participate in the contest but parents may enter the contest on behalf of their child and we’ll be diligent in following up with a parent or guardian to make sure that the prize is going to a kid and that we’re not breaking any state laws.
