The magnetic top-off kit from Avast Marine is an idea whose time is way overdue. For a device that really needs to stay put, it’s a wonder why some top off switches still use ghetto suction cups or some awkward side mounted bracketing when a pair of magnets will do the job easily and effectively. Avast Marine recognized the need for a better Auto Top Off (ATO) mount and so theirs is shipping with magnetic fastening that can handle sump walls up to 3/4 inches thick. Furthermore, the relay box can handle pumps with up to three amps of current and the handy little indicator light lets you know when the relay is on. All the little niceties of the Avast ATO are great features but in a few weeks there will be an option for digital out so that your controller can micromanage top off cycles, or just log how much and how often your tank needs water. The standard feature rich Avast Auto Top Off currently runs $69 and we suspect that the digital out version will only be another $10 to $20 more.
Magnetic Top Off kit from Avast Marine will soon have digital out to controllers
