Pacific Sun has now started shipping the GHL LEDControl4 module with custom connections to get your Pacific Sun LED fixture a full array of lighting control options. Although GHL recently released the GHL LEDControl4 the Pacific Sun version ships with custom cables to tap into the built in GHL ProfiLux interface baked in the newest Pacific Sun lamps. Through the GHL LEDControl4, you can dim and control the lights creating a full dawn-to-dusk cycle, moonlight cycle, could cover, rainy day cloud cover and and even lightening storms. For just under $60 you get the module, installation CD and cables.
Setup of your Pacific Sun LED lamps to your ProfiLux module is rather simple using a custom connection from the lamp into the module. The module then communicates with the controller via an RJ connection. The modules can be set up in a mono-light connection where each lamp or slave has the same power, intensity and color at the same time. Longer tanks can incorporate a dual-light connection allowing you to do funky things like have light movement from left to right (like a passing cloud), simulate movement of the moon or have random lighting function occuring at different times on each lamp. Each lamp requires its separate module.
With the advances of the latest Pacific Sun Metis line of LED lamps from the company, the addition of the custom GHL module even makes this fixture the luminous King of the Hill on the market right now. Whether you throw it on the Metis CRP module with Cree XPG and XPE LEDs or the stunning Metis XM — the first fixture on the market to incorporate the uber-bright, record-breaking Cree XM LEDs.
