The upcoming Bio Aquatek Gyractor G1000 Bio Reactor is designed to give your biopellets a new twist. A unique design and fluidising plate on the bottom are designed with a dual action, keeping the media in suspension and turning over to allow even dispersal of water all around the pellets. Unlike the JNS BioPellet Reactors that use a pump underneath to keep the media moving, the Gyractor appears to use small outlets on the vertical part of the base along with curved channels in the bottom part of the plate to channel the water and create the motion.
The Gyractor wins hands down in the name category so we will have to see how this media reactor fares out in the wild. The dual action of the reactor is designed to give strong agitation of the media at the bottom which allows the bacteria to be cleaned off and a slow tumbling action at the top to allow the growth of biofilm. The Gyractor does have a solid list of features including being bowered by a Sicce Syncra Silent 1.5 (23W), the ability to hold up to one liter of pellet media, and construction from Class A acrylic and ABS for a rugged build.
