The Spanish Flag grouper is a fish that was once uber rare but now seems to be trickling into the trade with more regular collection, and a price that ensures it is worth the time of the deepwater collectors who provide them. The latest LFS to be graced by this grouper gem from the depths of Curacao is Old Town Aquarium in Chicago. It appears they’ve landed a gorgeous little Spanish Flag, Gonioplectrus hispanus, which at just about three inches long is not too small to get lost in an average aquarium and not too large to be difficult to acclimate to captive live or to ship. Old Town Aquarium says the little Spanish Flag Grouper is out and about, eating well and can be yours for the low, low price of $18.99 $1899.
