The Eco-Lamps Full Spectrum Edition KR93 is a special joint venture between 1.023 World and Blue Harbor in Japan. In lieu of making a whole new LED fixture, Blue Harbor and 1.023 World had the idea of taking a solid light like the EcoLamps KR93 (aka AcanLight A103 in the US) and retrofitting it with a different suite of LEDs. As far as we are aware, the Full Spectrum edition KR93 will have the most diversity of blue LEDs of any fixture with five shades of blue and another two shades of white: In addition to cool white and neutral white LEDs there will also be 405nm UV, 420nm indigo, 450nm royal blue, 475nm blue and 500nm Cyan LEDs.
All this custom made blue LED goodness should excite just about any and all primary and accessory pigments in the blue end of the spectrum but it won’t come cheap. The EcoLamps KR93 Full Spectrum Edition light will cost $1,200 for the 12 inch model and $2300 for the 24 inch model. Presales for these special edition KR93 have somewhat of a break for eager buyers who can wait for early October when the lights will actually be ready. The Full Spectrum KR93 is a very interesting light and we really hope there is some chance for AcanLighting to bring this light to the US market for the reefers looking to blue-out their reef tanks.
