The Monterey Bay Aquarium has introduced a great white shark to their Open Sea exhibit for the sixth time. The Great White Shark, Carcharodon carcharias, has a very good history of captive husbandry at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it was the first public aquarium to successfully do so. The newest small great white shark is a cute little four foot male that was captured a couple of weeks ago in Malibu California. After being acclimated to constrained life in a pen in the sea the juvenile great white shark was transferred to the million gallon Open Sea exhibit where it will remain on exhibit for several months before once again being returned to the wild.
