The GHL Flow Sensor is an innovative new accessory for the Profilux aquarium controller that gives a proxy estimate of actual water flow rate. When connected to a Profilux the GHL Flow Sensor can measure flow rates and give an acoustic alarm or send an text message if the flow gets below a desired set point. The GHL Flow Sensor is one of the only products of its kind available for marine aquariums, using pressure sensing in a venturi-like fitting to provide feedback about flow rates without moving parts that fail when they become bio-fouled.
GHL’s Flow Sensor comes in two sizes, a Flow 100 which has a 1/2″ diameter male thread and can measure flow from 100 to 2000 liters per hour (25 to 500 gph) and a Flow 300 which has 1″ male thread and can measure flow from 300 to 5000 liters per hour (80 to 1300 gph). If you want to use the GHL Flow Sensor with larger pumps you can easily install it on a bypass loop on the outlet of your pump and still get an approximate measure of what your pump is doing. Both the GHL flow sensor Flow 100 and Flow 300 are on pre-order now and expected to become available in April.
