If you’ve had your curiosity piqued by the new Waveline DC-5000, this unboxing shows the main guts of this interesting variable speed pump. In addition to be a high efficiency and controllable water pump, the Waveline DC-5000 is also the heart of the RLSS Skimmers which are poised to raise the bar for performance and value for this class of protein skimmer. Unlike many generic Chinese water pumps and protein skimmers which seemed to be based off the same motor assembly/housing etc, it’s really nice to see at least a new platform for a needle wheel pump, especially one that features such a wide pinwheel and a democratic price point.
