Vertex RX-U reactors are the latest release from Vertex Aquaristik, and like many of their previous products these reactors are all about quality. The basic design of media reactors has been rehashed infinitely, but the RX-U reactors still manage to stand out in a crowded market. With a quick-loc design, true union ball valves, plastic welds and titanium screws, Vertex raises the bar ever so slightly simply by paying attention to detail, components and build quality. Full specs on the Vertex RX-U reactors can be found after the break.
LIke the RX-Z Zeovit reactor the Vertex RX-U reactors will come in three sizes including 1.5 liters, 2.0 liters, and 2.5 liters. The reactor includes sponges (in custom vertex red of course) so it is mainly meant to used chemical media such as carbon and GFO. In the case you wanted to run biopellets in your RX-U reactors an optional add-on biopellet assembly can be purchased. The RX-U reactors offers a dual chamber design, so if you desire, it is possible to run two different filtration media in one reactor. The reactors are designed to fit both hard and soft plumbing, although for inline applications hard plumbing is strongly recommended. The exact release date is not yet known but several websites offer pre-orders on these reactors. The 1.5 liter RX-U reactor will retail for $109.99, while the 2.0 liter and 2.5 liter reactors will sell for $124.99 and $164.99 respectively.
