AVAST Marine Works has added another dimension to its DIY product kits with the release of the SeaBones Calcium Reactor Kit. The kit has all the things you need to assemble and create a durable calcium reactor while saving a few bucks to spend on another piece of gear or that new coral you’ve been ogling, plus if you order today you’ll get a nice Cyber Monday price.
Just like the fully assembled SeaBones calcium reactors, the DIY version comes in three sizes. The SeaBones I uses a 3.5 in. diameter chamber with a 5 x 5 in. footprint and a 6 lb. capacity for calcium media. The SeaBones II is a 4.5 in. diameter chamber, with a 7 x 7 in. footprint with room for 11 lbs. of media. The largest, SeaBones III, is a 6 in. diameter body in a 9 x 9 in. footprint with a 20 lb. capacity. Pricing is $169.99, $219.99, and $259.99 for the three sizes, respectively.
As with the pre-built reactors, the Avast team recommends using a Sicce Syncra pumps, which are optional when you order. If you have another preferred pump, you can utilize that when installing in your system. Avast also notes it is possible to easily add a second chamber to increase capacity as your tank grows in. The secondary “degassing” chamber can also help alleviate low pH issues by fully utilizing all dissolved CO2.
As a reminder, the Avast sale ends today, November 26, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. ET. You can save an additional 12% off all prices and get free shipping on orders over $200.
