Located in Italy this reef of Andrea Negusanti really is by all means a stunning system. With the use of an iconic rimless Aquarium, Elos style stand, and Elos Lighting and not to mention the blue background every great looking reef in Italy seems to rock, this system is a spectacular example of the Italian reefing scene. All the corals were furthermore obviously selected for the best color, which becomes especially apparent when looking at individual coral pictures. A great looking tank all around.
Measuring approximately 49 by 28 by 22 inches (125x70x55cm) this reef has a volume of around 127 gallons (480 liters). Andrea Negusanti’s reef is illuminated by an Elos E-power with two Elos Spectra 14K 250MH bulbs and supplemental blue LED lighting. LGMAquari is the brand of choice as far as filtration is concerned with a costum LGMAquari all PVC pump, a LGMAquari LGs950 skimmer, and a LGMAquari LGr1401 calcium reactor. Additionally a Deltec reactor with a small amount of biopellets is also used. During the cold months a 300 watt heater keeps everything nice and cozy and during the summer a Teco TR15 chiller prevents things from getting too warm.
Flow within the system is provided by a pair of Tunze 6095 pumps along with a nanostream 6056 and a Nanostream 6055. An Eheim 1262 serves as return. Waterchanges are done every 15 days, and usually around 10% of the system volume. The tank is dosed Elos Omega (Amino acids), Elos ProSkimmer, and Elos SVC (zooplankton feed).
