The MiniMax All-in-One media reactor is the first product from Innovative Marine which truly lives up to the company name. The MiniMax is both an All-in-One media reactor and a media reactor for All-in-One tanks like the Nuvo series with a truly innovative manipulation of the media chamber.
With a simple twist of the top-loaded media chamber, users of MiniMax media reactors can easily adjust the flow rate through their favorite biopellets, GFO or activated carbon. This is an especially important feature for any media reactor since it is crucial to very aggressively stir biopellets, GFO is usually tumbled just a little bit and we usually like to keep the carbon kind of still.
Better yet, with the same adjustment knob it is a simple motion to pull out the entire inner meda chamber of the media reactor, without removing the entire unit which is an especially useful trick for top and rear-loading All-In-One aquariums. This patent pending feature, coupled with its small size and included feed pump are sure to cement the MiniMax as an extremely popular for a huge swath of smaller tank owners.
Innovative Marine is making the MiniMax in two sizes. The smaller 7301 desktop model holds up to 150ml of media with a suggested retail price of $99 and a footprint of 2” x 2.3” x 11.4”. The mid-size 7302 model which holds 300ml of media and has an MSRP of $129. The small size of the MiniMax media reactor is extremely well suited not only to the smaller self-contained aquaria with no room but also with the larger tank owners who like using a small quantity of biopellets, GFO, or carbon. We personally prefer using small quantities of these various and changing them often so we see a nice niche for using a battery of MiniMax reactors even on the medium to large size reefs.
