Besides the news that CAD Lights is releasing larger, conical pipeless protein skimmers we also learned the company has made a nano version of the pipeless skimmer we felt deserved its own post. We’ve noted before how impressed we were with first generation PLS-100 so we have high hopes for the new CAD Lights PLS-50 pipeless nano protein skimmer.
With a tiny footprint of just 3 1/4 in. overall the CAD Lights PLS-50 is rated for 10-50 gallon systems and should be able to slip in the skimmer compartment of all-in-one systems like the JBJ Nanocube or Oceanic Biocube and of course , CAD lights line of nano and cube aquariums.
Like the larger second generation skimmers, the PLS-50 also features the gear block system that allows for precise 1/16 in. adjustments to the skimmer. The skimmer also features a locking knob to lock your skimmer setting in place once you find that skimming sweet spot. The new CAD Lights PLS-50 has a three-piece assembly, making it easy to disassemble and clean along with a pin wheel impeller.
The fine details in these new skimmers and the quality of materials definitely make these a nice addition to any system.
