We covered the new Skimz PUR ReefSalt back in February one of the key bits of information we were missing were the parameters. As we are starting to gear up for our InterZoo 2014 coverage, we noticed Skimz posted some updates on its new salt to their blog. Skimz PUR ReefSalt was designed to mix up as close to natural seawater as possible and although these tests were not done at a lab, they will provide a good indicator of what you will experience.
When mixed up at a specific gravity of 1.025, Skimz noted these parameters:
pH (Salifert) – 8.2
Alkalinity (Salifert) – 9.6 dKH
Calcium (Salifert) – 420 ppm
Magnesium (Salifert) – 1320 ppm
Potassium (Salifert) – 400 ppm
Phosphate (Salifert) – 0 ppm
Nitrate (Salifert) – 0 ppm
