Eheim incpiria marine is the latest line reef-ready line of aquariums from the industry pioneer. The Eheim incpira marine series will come as a complete package with sump and return pump. The system can be packaged with T5’s or four of their new powerLED strips. The overflow features an integrated maintenance shaft to route cables and other wires. There is also an emergency overflow in case of power outages.
The systems will come in several sizes including 200, 300, 400 and 500 liters. The names of each model reflect this number in liters. The package comes in high gloss white, silver and black. The glass was described as ‘white glass’, which I suspect is a take on glass with low lead content and high clarity. The stand had a nice attention to detail, with recessed door handles and sealed inner edges.
The sump was fairly straightforward. It had a place for running water across filter pads, and a separate compartment for storing auto-topoff water. The skimmer compartment was well done. It consisted of a larger weir-style box to maintain a steady water level. The dimensions of the skimmer compartment was impressive for sump standards. It should easily work for many brands of skimmers. Eheim mentioned that they also have a protein skimmer in the works.
The overall presentation is really elegant. It should easily meet spouse approval. We also like that the system is open to customization. If a reefkeeper prefers to use their own type of lights, the canopy panels can be removed to create an open topped reef. There is also plenty of room in the stand for aftermarket additions like a chiller. Eheim hopes to have these tanks stateside this fall, in time for the holidays. Pricing should be finalized shortly. It is encouraging to see more companies coming out with ready to go reef-ready systems.
