Hagen’s got three new LED striplights to bring their lighting strips and fixtures to modern specs and features, from simple updates to a couple completely new light. The first major change across the entire line is the replacement of the mechanical on/off switch with a touch-sensitive switch which not only toggles the power on and off but also cycles through different colors, and allows for simple dimming control.
The other big change in the Fluval Sea LED lights is the use of two channels of color in order to get more access to the blue channel for dawn/dusk simulation, which is now programmable with their new dual ramp timer and also via wifi using the new module and Fluval LED application.
The Sirius Reef LED is Fluval’s big take on a powerful and feature rich LED light. New high output LEDs are used in five colors including 10K, 460nm, 440nm and a phosphor based pink LED for highlighting colors to create an 80w 24″, 100w 36″ and 180w 48″ lengths. On the other end of the spectrum the AquaSky LED strip is a basic remote controlled RGB LED light for entry level LED aquarium lighting.
Smack in the middle of the range is the Marine & Reef 2.0 striplights, also with the light controls spread across two channels, capacitive touch switch and improved LEDs for up to 20% more output. The Marine & Reef and Sirius Reef LED lights are the lights Hagen has in mind for accessorizing with the new dual ramp timer and wifi module and marks a new direction for the mass manufacturer of aquarium products.
