The Fluval Sea Halo Performance LED is a new revision to Hagen’s Fluval nano LED fixture with a radical departure from everything but the shape and housing. With an all new controllable chip-on-board (C.O.B.) LED, the new Halo Performance LED light by Fluval Sea features discrete channels of control for fine tuning the relative appearance of the white and blue light.
Like the whole range of Fluval Sea LEDs, the Halo Performance LED light uses a touch-sensitive “button” to turn the light on and off, cycle through presets, and to set the intensity of the desired colors. The 20 watt COB dual color chip produces 800 lumens with a rating of 50,000 hours of usable lamp life.
The fully sealed design of the Fluval Sea Halo LED with its capacitive control switch earns the light an IP68 waterproof rating. Hagen demoed a few of their Fluval Sea Halo Performance LED lights in a trade show style display but unfortunately we didn’t get to see what this light can do, and how it looks over a corals. We’ll have to wait until later this summer when the Fluval Sea Halo LED is released to determine how well that 120 degree COB LED performs in a real world application.
