The Marine Breeding Initiative wants to give you a Lightning Maroon Clownfish. That’s right. We are not fooling. The Lightning Maroon Clownfish was almost too good to be true when discovered back in 2008 and thanks to hobbyists like Matt Pedersen and others in the MBI there are now captive bred offspring of this unique fish in circulation. Due to the rarity of this fish, the first few generations of offspring are pretty pricey, however when you attend the MBI Workshop on July19 in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., you can buy a raffle ticket for your chance to win.
So what do you get? One pair consisting of one F1 PNG Lightning Maroon Clownfish donated by Matt Pedersen and Blue Zoo Aquatics and one F1 PNG Morse Code Maroon Clownfish from Sea and Reef Aquaculture. If you are in the area, you are in luck since you have to be present to win the pair. This is a great organization and the workshops are fantastic to attend. We are officially jealous of the winner in advance!
Hopefully in the future there could be a public raffle that could be held online where the proceeds go to the MBI but you don’t have to be present to win — just throwing it out there team MBI.
