When IceCap shuttered operations a few years back, we figured the name would just live in the lore of the hobby but it appears IceCap is making a comeback thanks to Chris Conti and team at CoralVue have resurrected the brand. One of the first products we are hearing about is the new upcoming IceCap EcoSmart RO/DI water filtration system.
Besides having a timer to help manage the production, the unit features a special ElectroDeposition coating that encapsulates the frame for added protection against rust. According to CoralVue, this coating is similar to powder coating but comes in a liquid form. This should theoretically give it a better bond on the metal. We are not sure how much these units will run, but they are expected to ship in September. We are hoping to see more from CoralVue at MACNA.
