Real Reef is getting really good at this hand-made reef rock game, with their fourth generation rock looking almost identical to real live rock. We got a sneak peek at the new Real Reef Rock at InterZoo and if hadn’t been for the signage, we would have thought that someone had placed some really nice pieces of dry live rock on a table.
You have to look very closely at Real Reef’s fourth generation handmade rock to notice that there are zero encrustations of living things, no shells, tubeworms or other biogenic elements that actual live rock would be made of. Real Reef has achieved this sweet natural-looking effect by using over eleven calcium-carbonate based materials, in different grades.
The resulting 4th generation Real Reef Rock is really something you have to see to believe, the multiple shades of purple and variety of building materials is extremely attractive and also results in rocks that are 20% lighter and have greater porosity.
