The 2014 MACNA committee, of which we are part, has been working its tail off for the better part of two years to put on the Mile High MACNA in Denver Colorado. In that time we have been extremely diligent in organizing the kind of global marine aquarium conference that will attract marine aquarists from all over the world, and the efforts are paying off.
MACNA may be an acronym for the Marine Aquarium Conference of North America but over the last decade this event has grown to become the most important marine aquarium show in the world. This year the 26th MACNA will be the most internationally represented MACNA in history with more speakers and companies from all over the world.
Normally a MACNA is delighted to have on or two speakers from outside the country but the Denver MACNA blows the doors wide open on global aquarist participation. The speaker lineup will include presentations by aquarists from France, England, Germany, Mauritius, Bali, Singapore, Palau, Australia and Fiji!
Furthermore, building on the international marine aquarium speakers, MACNA 2014 will feature more international companies than ever before. In addition to longtime international participants Prodibio, Giesemann, Tropic Marin and Walt Smith International, the Mile High Macna will host some exotic newcomers.
Cairns Marine will be exhibiting at MACNA to visit with attendees and businesses about how the collection of marine animals goes down in Australia. And from Germany we will have Schuran, Royal Exclusiv, Panta Rhei and Triton to give us a first hand look at the German way of doing things, and making exquisite marine aquarium products.
With soooo many aquarists traveling from all over the world, and this year’s location being further west in the U.S. than ever before, we also expect that there will be even more attendees from the entire country. Flights to centrally located Denver are short and affordable and we expect to see a lot more west coasters than ever before.
We’re looking at just under four weeks until the kick off of the Mile High MACNA on August 29th which is just enough time to book some last minute flight deals, and to book a room near the MACNA venue. For full details on getting yourself to Denver and things to do once you arrive, check out the MACNA website because this is one major marine aquarium event that you won’t want to miss.
