Reefgreentech, an online store in France, has released a new double cone skimmer that features an intriguing impeller design. Although the double cone skimmer is nothing new, the R200DC is a DC-powered double cone skimmer with a unique approach to chopping air. Instead of the pinwheel or meshwheel, it features a bevy of micro propellers across a five layers.
Developed in France, the skimmer was assembled in Austria and is using 30 degree water injection to reduce turbulence. The DC pump has 2,000 liters of air draw while using 30W of power and is adjustable to six built-in speed settings and a feeding setting.
Overall dimensions are 11.8 x 9.8 x 21.6 in. (300 x 250 x 550 mm), and is rated for reef systems up to 1,200 liters (around 317 gallons) or a 2,000 liter (528 gallons) fish only or lightly stocked tank. This looks like a well-build and slick looking skimmer that should be a skimming beast based on its spec sheet.
The Reefgreentech R200DC double cone skimmer goes on sale this week for €689 (around $900 USD).
