Apple’s newest flagship iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have begun shipping to stores and pre-orders which means that tomorrow, a lot of you will have a shiny new smartphone in need of some equally shiny backgrounds and wallpapers. Not one to let an opportunity to meld aquarium and popular culture, we’ve curated a selection of free background images for you to use as soon as the new iPhone 6 or 6 plus arrives at your door, or is picked up in store.
This gallery of 12 vertical fish and coral reef images are part of our own original series from our voyages to Kwajalein Atoll and the Fluval Sea Flores Expedition. All of the images are sized with a resolution the same as the iPhone 6 Plus, at 1920 x 1080 pixels, and we can’t wait to see how these look on what will likely be one of the most popular iPhone launches ever. Of course if you’ve already got a large-format phablet like the Samsung Galaxy S phones or Galaxy Note, these background will work just as well.
The free iPhone 6 Plus backgrounds include all manner of subjects from fish to corals, reefscapes and even a nice sunset from the Flores Sea thrown in for good measure.
