The Series 7 sumps are a new line of remote aquarium filters from Zero Edge, a company well-known for its skills in acrylic-smithing. Zero Edge has added a special degree of flair to their Series 7 sumps with obviously clownfish-inspired color theme of orange and white sump walls and bottom with clear sides and top all around.
The new orange and white Series 7 sumps from Zero Edge reflect a decidedly modern trend on reef and marine aquarium sump filters to have a “landing zone” for the water that spills over into a mechanical sock filter area. Following that zone the water flows into a protein skimmer section whose water depth can be dialed in thanks to a built-in heigh adjusting white spillway gate.
Other refinements of the Series 7 sumps include a built-in probe holder on the water depth gate, predrilled drains and bulkheads for external pumps and firmly fitting lids. Anyone who is familiar with Zero Edge aquariums and their incredible level of acrylic fabrication will appreciate a similar level of craftsmanship in the Zero Edge Series 7 sumps. As the name implies there are seven models of Zero Edge sumps to choose from; they range in size from 26 to 42 inches long, and they price out anywhere between $395 to $545. [Zero Edge]
