The Neptune Systems COR pump was just announced this morning and it is an important new component in the Apex controller ecosystem of aquarium devices and accessories. With its blocky shape, angular edges and orange and grey color scheme, it is clear that the COR pump is not a rebadged water pump built by someone else, but a completely custom device like Neptune Systems has pioneered with the DOS and WAV.
As we speculated about the forthcoming ‘Apex Pump’, the Cor is controlled and powered by the 1Link module which makes it a perfect compliment when paired with two WAV pumps. The Apex COR pump is fully controllable and consumes up to 60W of power while delivering a maximum flowrate of 1850 gallons per hour, or 1000 gph at six feet of head pressure.
While Neptune has revealed their new COR pump, they haven’t yet disclosed when the new controllable pump will be available, or how much it will cost. However we’re not expecting the COR to see the light of day until next year, when it will likely be offered with and without 1Link modules for those Apex users who have already invested in the the WAV pump with 1Link.
