Vibrant Sea is a brand new salt mix from Seachem which has just begun to be teased in leaked promotional materials. The new Vibrant Sea will be the fourth salt mix in Seachem’s product catalog, following their original Marine Salt and Reef Salt, and their super-spec Aquavitro Salinity salt mix.
It’s not clear where Vibrant Sea fits into the hierarchy of their three existing salt mix formulas. The label for Seachem Vibrant Sea describes an ‘extremely concentrated’ formula which is nitrate & phosphate free, fast dissolving and ‘superior calcium and alkalinity stability’, features that ALL salt mixes tout about their recipes.
But the most interesting new description of Seachem Vibrant Sea is an ‘Enhanced Potassium Formula’, a detail we’ve not heard or seen trumpeted about seawater mixes before. But with potassium increasingly seen as an important element for supporting biological activities, especially bacteria growth, a little extra K+ is definitely welcome in the salt mix.
There is very scant information about Vibrant Sea from Seachem, but there are some indications we should expect to see this salt mix start to appear sometime late this spring. [JP RB]
