One of the things that makes the aquarium hobby so enjoyable is all the different aspects that can keep it interesting and diversified. Of course we love our livestock, great reef aquarium displays, and all the shiny bells and whistles that put it all together.
But along with that, the living art of aquariums also lends itself very well to being actual art. From the paintings, carvings, drawings and tattoos, comic books and clothes, and let’s not forget the high quality toys that can capture something special about the wide diversity of aquatic animals we all enjoy.
In this video I kickoff a new unboxing series and I start by opening two boxes of high quality ‘action figures’ from a Japanese company called Colorata. The Coral Reef Fish set includes an assortment of familiar and iconic reef fish, while the Fossil Fish set is packed with many of the bony fish which are among the oldest lineages of bony fish alive today.
Before you go wondering if ‘Jake’s gone off the deep end’ unboxing aquarium toys, first of all, that’s a rhetorical question because I’ve always been ‘off the deep end’. But to get to the closer point, this video was part of an exercise in developing a new and engaging video format for many more video unboxing and reviews to come.
