SeaLife Sea Dragon Mini 900
SeaLife introduces two new mini dive lights at this year DEMA show. The new SeaLife Sea Dragon Mini 900 comes in standard white as well as an exciting new fluoro light.
The Sea Dragon Mini 900 white has five light modes for full (900 lumens), half, quarter power, one-second flash signal, and SOS signal. This light can be used as a primary light or backup light that you can tuck in your BCD pocket, perfect for checking out caves, critters, and under dark ledges.
The SeaLife Sea Dragon Mini 900 will cost $79.95, or $99.95 for the light kit with 18650 rechargeable battery and mini charger.
SeaLife Sea Dragon Mini Fluoro
But we are more excited about the SeaLife Sea Dragon fluoro mini light! The fluoro mini is a partnership with Fire Dive Gear and comes with a yellow filter for night time viewing or for capturing stunning underwater photos and videos. The fluoro mini has a 7Watt light around 400 lumens at full power.
If you’ve never tried fluoro diving we highly recommend it, and if night diving isn’t your thing don’t worry, you can use fluoro lights in the day with or without a yellow filter. In fact, we never go diving without a fluoro light as it brings out the neon colors in corals like you can’t even imagine.
The picture above shows a tube anemone under a UV light with and without a yellow barrier filter. Cameras have a difficult time capturing the bright neon colors and are overwhelmed by blue, however with your eyes corals light up pink, purple, and blue. With a yellow filter they will glow, red, orange and green.
Both dive lights are built with anodized aluminum, and depth rated to 100m/330ft. The Fluoro mini has 2 hours at full power or 8 hours at quarter power using one 18650 reachable battery, or 1 hour at full power and 4 hours at quarter power using 2 single-use CR123 batteries. [SeaLife]
The Fluoro Mini and Mask Filter will cost $159.95
