The Coral Box Quiet Pump is a relatively new line wavemaker series notes that was designed in collaboration with German engineers, but appears to be very similar in design to the Jebao pumps.
The Quiet Pump or QP series, is a wirelessly controlled pump developed to perform quietly with a motor that can last. This new version also features an LCD controller and display making it a bit more controllable.
Reading on various message boards and online vendors, Coral Box appears to be the same company behind the Jebao/Jecod pumps and share many of the same characteristics. However, one of the biggest changes in this design is moving the power management off the pump motor itself and into the controller. Moving this takes some of the burden off the motor, giving you a longer lifespan.
The controller LCD has a some interesting features and modes built in like an anti-sync mode and a built-in light sensor for night mode. There are six modes — normal, sine, pulse, advanced shift, natural reef and nature. The controller can link up to 16 pumps together — all wirelessly.
It also has a more compact design than the other pumps like the Jebao RW line and delivers more output than the Jebao WP line. There are three sizes of pumps, the QP-5, QP-9 and QP-16.
The QP-5 delivers up to 1,300 GPH at 10W and measures in at 8.5 x 6 x 6.5 cm and retails for around $110 with the controller.
The QP-9 delivers 2,340 GPH at 23W with dimensions of 10.5 x 8 x 7.5 cm and runs around $120.
The largest pump, the QP-16, delivers up to 4,160 GPH at 40W, measures 12.5 x 9.5 x x 8.5 cm and retails around $130.
