The Reef Octopus Octo Pulse pumps we were hoping to see in 2017 are finally right around the corner and will be shipping in May. Plus they will be coming in two sizes — the Octo Pulse 2 and the Octo Pulse 4.
The Octo Pulse 2 will retail around $230 and can move up to 1600GPH while the Octo Pulse 4 will retail around $280 and can move up to 4500GPH.
As we noted before, one of the intriguing features of the Octo Pulse is the magnetic mount, that allows for better aiming of the flow. The back side of the Octo Pulse prop assembly has a rounded convex shape that marries into the convex curve of the mag mount. This allows for 25 degree range of motion that can be rotated 360°.
The pump will come with a controller so you can dial in some pulsing or surge effects. It comes with four preset pulsing patterns and 15 or 60 minute feeding modes.
Good news for those of you who want more precision or to integrate into a third-party controller. The 0-10v port allows connection to most controllers including the APEX.
CoralVue, the North American distributor, has information on its website and shared the news on social media the pumps will be available come May.
